Our education and community have given so much to us, we likewise as the Class of 2003, want to give in return. The Class as a whole has decided to start a generic scholarship fund that will be given to a graduating senior each year at Awards Night starting in 2014. The award will be given to someone who demonstrates good morals and values, vision and leadership, and who has a plan to give back to our community or to write to us about how their experience at WCHS has shaped their future, as it did ours.
While our Class shares so many similarities, we also celebrate our differences and unique attributes and interests that make us all special. The one thing we all definitely celebrate together is our foundation in education at Woodford County High. Thus, while there are many great organizations and giving funds, this is something that we felt we could all do together and celebrate together, while helping another graduate on their journey to success.
It is our hope to continue to do this for years to come as we watch our own kids and grandkids graduate from WCHS and give back to our great community. The goal is to not award the scholarship to the highest GPA or the most athletic candidate necessarily, but to give it to someone who works hard, shares in our same morals and values and has a passion for Woodford County.
We invite you to join us giving in a small donation to the scholarship fund that is completely separate from our Class Fund if you also feel compelled. Please do not feel obligated and no matter your contribution in money, spirit or work, we will celebrate in giving the scholarship away on the entire behalf of the Class.
